Formats

The Alumni4Students@KIT project consists of three formats: In the Career Perspectives Talks , alumnae and alumni provide concrete insights into practical everyday working life in various industries and professional fields. The seminar "Unlocking Potential. Successfully mastering the job (entry) with positive psychology." teaches the basics of positive psychology and reflects on how these can be used for successful mentoring relationships, which are ideally sought as a further building block between the seminar participants. The respective dates can be found in the event calendar.

Exchange with KIT alumni on career prospects and uncertainties when starting a career

In this format, alumni provide concrete insights into everyday working life in various industries and professional fields. There is room for professional exchange as well as practical questions about starting a career. This gives students the opportunity to put questions directly to experts from the field and gain concrete perspectives for their career entry.

Seminar "Unlocking Potential. Successfully mastering the job (entry) with positive psychology."

This format is aimed at alumni and students. Over the course of a weekend, participants learn the basic attitudes of positive psychology from certified trainers from the German Society for Positive Psychology (DGPP). The mixed target group format promotes exchange and dialog and initiates mentoring relationships between alumni and students. After an introduction to positive psychology, participants will work together to develop how methods and interventions from positive psychology can be applied in coaching and mentoring relationships. In the third block, participants then have the opportunity to make agreements for further mentoring discussions.

Mentoring relationships

Against the background of the knowledge gained in the seminar, alumnae or alumni and students meet in 1:1 counseling sessions. The content can be freely designed; topics can include personal strengths, motivation, goals and confidence.
