Alumni4Students@KIT
The world of work is constantly changing and presents students with ever new challenges. In addition to buzzwords such as digitalization, sustainability and new work, the multitude of possible career fields is often overwhelming. Lifelong, independent learning and reacting quickly and flexibly to new challenges in the world of work are becoming increasingly important. Students do not always feel well prepared for this and would like to see stronger links between study and practice.
Alumni of KIT, who are a valuable resource with their diverse professional biographies and horizons of experience as well as successful careers in business and society, can form this bridge into practice.
This is realized in the project Alumni4Students@KIT:
- It offers a forum for students as well as alumni of KIT to come together
- Students and alumni reflect together on existing challenges of starting a job, develop goals and values and find solutions
- The formats focus on encounters and dialog
- The alumni are available to students as role models, provide support with critical questions, point out options and pass on their insider knowledge from practical experience
The specific dates are listed in the event calendar (filter by event series).

The project is run by the Career Service & Alumni department and the House of Competence . The Career Service & Alumni department prepares students for their career entry through individual career coaching, workshops and support programs as well as contacts in the business world. It also manages the alumni network with more than 28,000 registered alumni. The House of Competence offers a comprehensive program for the transition from university to the world of work with a focus on self-management, appreciation, trust, purpose and cooperation.
